I knew AOL was shutting some down-like the one for "24"- because it was shown on top of the board that it would close on 3/31. But none of the soorts boards i visit had that. So their idea of "changes" is annhilation??

Maybe this is AOL's way of stopping all the multiple screen names from trolling the boards????? Once again, those of us with only one name have our lives disrupted because of the few that just can't abide by the rules. It sucks. I miss our RR board already!!

Pleeeeze, the aol boards needed to close. The real trolls were the regulars who had multiple screen names and would attack anyone who was new. AOL failed to even come close to being fair about enforcing its tos. Other boards on other isps enforce their tos and you don't have isp employees posting on boards they are moderating. It was ridiculous. The AOL boards were a free for all. YAY that they're gone and may they stay gone. Let them go to other formats that actually know what they're doing. Most of the regulars seriously need to get lives and stop whining like little babies. Here's a hint: Real life is what matters, not message boards and chat rooms. Some people need to stop whining, and get to living their real lives, like actually parenting their children and finding jobs. Long die aol boards.

It certainly seems that AOL doesn't give a rat's backside about people looking for intelligent conversation about politics and serious news.
Now, if you want to chat about celebs or sports or travel, it appears that there are still some boards up. The AOL board that I have posted on for years, the "Was There A Case For War" board, has been on-and-off, so it could be that some of these boards will remain once AOL gets done f***ing around. MAYBE-maybe there will be message boards, and maybe some day AOL will be done f***ing around! I'm sorry I'm not a paying member of AOL...I would take great delight in cancelling membership if I had one right about now...as it is, if the message boards are gone from AOL, I will be one less source of web traffic for their advertisers. Yes, I'm not a happy camper. Not only were our message boards informative and helpful, especially the AOL boards having to do with the AOL program, but we made friends. Hope that some are still here. I previously had a Yahoo account, which has automatically been transferred here. But I am Gata@aol.com

Well I'm even happier now with my very recent decision to stop paying Aol for the privilege of lousy service. AOL just never got it. Political boards need to be free-wheeling and some need to cater to the nancies and anal retentive types and should be clearly labeled. All this Board monitor and TOS crap was un-necessary. Frankly, the only reason I kept paying the fools was because of the message boards. They have yet another former customer who hates them.

I think it's disgusting the way AOL have behaved, we in the UK new the UK boards were going to close a few weeks back, so we were prepared and found other boards via the US People Connection site, now they have gone also and not one word that they were going to disappear off the face of the planet either, just some b/s in the blog about changes coming, what sort of change is this then, it's not a change but a wipeout. I'm angry grrrr
